Existing Technology

Production used T5 Quad High Bays (230W total load). The Warehouse lighting was Metal Halide 400W (453W load) units with other areas Mezzanines, packing with T8 Twin 6’ Fluorescent (160W load). Offices using T5 4’ quad panels.

The overall Load was 11kW

Issues

Maintenance had become an issue with units failing with production lighting barely meeting H&S standards on the late shifts. There were also areas in production, warehouse and communal areas where it was unnecessary to have these lit all day, therefore savings could be made using individual occupation microwave sensors.

Solution

Ledlights4you team installed were able to reduce the production lighting whilst significantly improving the light quality by over 100%.

Using individual Microwave Occupation Sensors on LED lighting we can program the lights to react to daylight, sensitivity, duration or hold time. In production areas the hold time is extended to ensure operators have adequate light when operating or adjusting machinery.

These were positioned to give an even light distribution so that factory changes in the future will not require any movement of lights.

Our HBD LED Microwave sensor LEDs (smart) can be set up using a hand held remote with preset settings making them easy to adjust from the ground. (as shown in our Boyriven Video)

As a safety measure these lights dim for one minute before switching off automatically. Microwave Sensors have two main advantages, they have multiple settings and will scan an area of up to 15m ensuring instant switch on when the area is occupied.

LUX levels were increased throughout the Production area were increased from 120LUX to over 320LUX average.
