Main Offices and study area used T5 fluorescent 5ft twin lights integral units built in to the architectural suspended ceiling system.

The ceiling system was no longer manufactured, whilst it was perfectly sound the lighting was customised to the ceiling system.  

Maintenance had become an issue with many of the lighting units having failed creating very poor lighting in many areas. In addition, a large proportion of the lights had internal emergency lighting which had also failed.

The existing lighting was custom built into the architectural ceiling. Whilst LED tubes could have been an option, the fittings were more than 20 years old with broken, burnt-out components. This option was unsafe. Alternative LED fittings would not have worked due to the size restrictions of the integral construction. Replacement of the entire ceiling and integral lighting for a modern suspended ceiling with LED panels would have added £10,000 to the project.  

LEDlights4you saved BIMM over £10,000 on the project with the innovative design, allowing BIMM use their budget saving for other projects.LEDlights4you engineers were able to design a modern LED panel to fit to the existing lighting system adopting a slim surface fitting whilst adapting tiles to create a flush professional appearance without the additional cost burden of replacing the entire suspended ceiling system and associated wiring

LUX levels were increased throughout the Production area were increased from 120LUX to 300LUX average.
