Existing Technology
Originally the warehouse building was an assembly line with a small area of Racking. The assembly area was taken to another building and the John Grey Building allocated solely to Warehousing. There were 83 x Fluorescent T8 Twin lighting units, many not functioning and 50% were mounted across the racking.
Issues
30% of the Lighting had failed; or broken due to the positioning over the racking.
Solution
Ledlights4you team installed 25 x 150w HBD with Microwave Occupation Sensors. These were positioned in the isles and over the packing area.
The Microwave sensor can be set up from the ground using a hand held remote. Hold times and dimming can be varied so that stock can be counted without being plunged in darkness.
LUX levels were increased throughout the warehouse to average 100 LUX making picking more efficient and staff more productive.
Update: Since the first job some 5 years ago we have completed Five more projects for Aqualisa, Redesigning lighting in the Office Block, Two more Warehouses, Relit Workshops, Replaced and upgraded Emergency Lighting along with Carpark path lights
