Existing Technology

The Hanger had 70 x Metal Halide 400W (453W load) units which were costing £50 per day in energy costs. They remained on even when the Hanger was unoccupied using a load of 32kW per hour

Issues

Many of the units had overheated and failed with bulbs sometimes exploding causing extreme concerns for the expensive Jet Powered Private Jets below. The damage could have easily cost millions

Maintenance had become an issue with units failing the LUX levels were barely 100 LUX which is extremely poor for precision engineering standards requiring 300 – 500 LUX for aviation standards.

Solution

Ledlights4you team installed just 56 x LED smart high bay lights in a new design plan, reducing the load average of just 6.7kW per hour saving Inflit Engineering Ltd of Stansted a massive £58,782 over the next 5 years!

Using individual Microwave Occupation Sensors on LED lighting we can program the lights to react to daylight, sensitivity, duration or hold time. Often whilst the Hanger holds up to 3 Learjets, the technicians were often just one end of the hanger.

By adjusting sensitivity and the hold times the hanger lights will individually switch off once and area is unoccupied.

Each Smart LED High Bay produces 30,000 Lumen per 150W light with a spread of 110 degrees, the new lighting layout takes advantage of the brighter technology, giving a more even light than the previous Metal Halides. Average Light levels average almost 3 times the light. Even better news is that the payback for Inflit Engineering LTD of Stansted Airport is just 18.3 months.

Our HBD LED Microwave sensor LEDs (smart) can be set up using a hand held remote with preset settings making them easy to adjust from the ground. (as shown in our Boyriven Video)

As a safety measure these lights dim for one minute before switching off automatically. Microwave Sensors have two main advantages, they have multiple settings and will scan an area of up to 15m ensuring instant switch on when the area is occupied.

LUX levels were increased throughout the Production area were increased from 100LUX to over 300LUX average.
